The Dun Laoghaire Coast Guard have issued a Dublin safety warning ahead of the Storm Eunice 'weather bomb'.
Storm force winds, heavy snow and rain are set to batter the country over the next day.
And the Coast Guard have advised the general public to steer clear of coastlines, cliffs and harbours.
They said: "Take care along our coastlines during Storm Eunice, which will bring Storm force winds and gusts to our seas during the early hours of tonight into Friday.
"Heed the warnings, stay back from the coastlines, cliffs and harbours during the storm. Don’t put yourself or others in danger!
"Remember if you see anyone in difficulty in or near the water, dial 112 immediately and ask for the Coast Guard."
Met Eireann have warned: "Storm Eunice will track over Ireland on Thursday night and on Friday bringing very strong winds and falls of heavy rain, sleet and snow.
"Some disruption is likely along with a possibility of coastal and spot flooding."
They added: "Heavy rain will push in from the southwest too bringing risks of spot flooding, while the rain will transition to sleet and snow over predominantly the north and northwest of the country, with accumulations possible."
