Storm Corrie has caused widespread travel disruption on the roads, trains and Metro services as strong winds batter the North East.
The Met Office has put in place a yellow weather warning for wind for the region and said that injuries and danger to life from flying debris are possible.

It urged people to take care in coastal areas as the strong winds could result in some large and dangerous waves around the coasts.
The yellow weather warning started at 3pm on Sunday, January 30, following Storm Malik, and will remain in place until 10am today, January 31.
Powerful gusts will persist through Monday morning reaching 32mph before dropping to 22mph this evening.
