Former Coronation Street star Sally Lindsay has called for more stories by and for working-class people to be told after she was honoured at an investiture ceremony.
Lindsay, who is best known for playing the long-suffering Rovers Return landlady Shelley Unwin on the ITV soap, was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the King’s New Year Honours for her services to drama.
