To ensure the long-term growth and reliability of the public electric vehicle (EV) charging point network in Scotland, private sector investment is needed, according to a new report from public sector infrastructure body the Scottish Futures Trust (SFT).
Following extensive engagement with the market, the SFT report concludes that subsidised - or in some cases free - charging applied by owners of sites on the ChargePlace Scotland (CPS) network is deterring the investment needed to grow Scotland’s network over the next five to 10 years.
