Indian equity benchmarks ended mixed on Thursday, September 17, as heightened volatility during the closing auction session on the weekly expiry day kept investors cautious.

The NSE Nifty 50 settled at 23,270.60, up 53 points, or 0.23%, while the BSE Sensex declined 21.86 points, or 0.03%, to 74,314.59.
