Stocks in news: LIC, Trent, AWL Agri Business, SBI, Titan

Markets traded on a subdued note on the weekly expiry day and ended almost unchanged amid mixed cues. Technically, analysts say the Nifty appears poised for the next leg of the up move after consolidating in a narrow range over the past three sessions. The index is likely to first test the 24,800–25,000 zone, and a sustained move above this region could pave the way for an extension towards the 25,200 mark.

In today's trade, shares of LIC, Trent, AWL Agri Business, PNB Housing, Dabur among others will be in focus due to various news developments and first quarter results.

SBI, Titan, Hindalco

Shares of SBI, Titan and Hindalco will be in focus as the companies will announce their first quarter results today.

LIC

India's leading Life Insurance Corp (LIC) on Thursday reported 23% year-on-year (YoY) growth in its standalone net profit at Rs 13,492 crore in the first quarter, compared with Rs 10,986 crore a year ago. Net Premium Income in the reporting period increased 7% YoY to Rs 1.27 lakh crore.

Trent

Trent on Thursday reported 21% year-on-year (YoY) growth in its consolidated net profit at Rs 519 crore in the first quarter. The same stood at Rs 430 crore in the year-ago quarter. Revenue from operations in the reporting period increased 18% YoY to Rs 5,755 crore.

PNB Housing

PNB Housing Finance expects its newly launched micro-housing loan business to reach around Rs 100 crore by the end of the current financial year as it expands deeper into the affordable housing segment, a top official said on Thursday.

Dabur

Packaged goods maker Dabur India on Thursday moved the Delhi High Court against national foods regulator Food Safety & Standards Authority of India (FSSAI)’s order that bans the sale of many of its products with "100% pure" claims, the fourth company that has taken the regulator to court in recent weeks.

AWL Agri Business

India's AWL Agri Business has built up inventories of imported edible oils over the past two months, adopting a strategy similar to the one it used during Covid to guard against supply snarls from geopolitical conflicts, its CEO told Reuters.
