Stocks Give Up Early Gains on Weakness in Chip Stocks

The S&P 500 Index ($SPX) (SPY) this morning is down -0.22%, the Dow Jones Industrials Index ($DOWI) (DIA) is down -0.16%, and the Nasdaq 100 Index ($IUXX) (QQQ) is down -0.55%.

US stock indexes this morning gave up an early advance and turned lower, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 falling to 1-3/4 month lows. Chip stocks are under pressure today and are weighing on the overall market after ASML Holding NV reported Q1 net sales below consensus.
