Stirling Albion fans slam Dumbarton call off after game is cancelled for FOURTH time 20 minutes before kick off

Fans of Stirling Albion have been left not knowing whether to laugh or to cry on Tuesday evening - with their away tie at Dumbarton postponed for the FOURTH time this season due to a waterlogged pitch.

It marked a huge game in Scottish League Two, with both teams gunning for promotion to League One. With only thirty-six games played throughout the season, Stirling would have been all but promoted with a win away at The Rock; which would have seen them go twelve points clear of their opponents with twelve points to play for.

However, in what is a literal six-pointer, The Sons would have gone just six behind with twelve to play - making it every in terms of their promotion push. The original tie was supposed to take place in early January, though that was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. Then, on March 7, the game was postponed less than two hours before-kick off, with the match official deeming the pitch to be unplayable.

A weekend later, a combination of heavy snow and frost-biting temperatures saw a hat-trick of cancellations - with fans wondering if the game would ever be played come the end of the season. And they will be left scratching their heads once more after leaving The Rock for a FOURTH time without seeing a game.

One fan quipped: "Is this a record?", another fan remarked: "Complete shambles. Time for the club to ask serious questions. Fans out of pocket again", whilst a third commented: "Time to deduct points from Dumbarton and award the Albion the victory."

Did someone say fifth time lucky?
