Stirling Albion boss Darren Young has urged his title-winning heroes to savour the moment when they get their hands on the League 2 trophy tomorrow.
The Binos manager guided his side to sensational league championship success with a 3-1 win at home to Annan Athletic last weekend – notching their 18th game unbeaten.
It was yet another comeback victory in a season where that spirit became the Forthbank side’s trademark.
The Binos fell behind to a goal by Annan’s Chris Johnston.
They equalised just a minute later via an own goal before they sealed the title in style with second-half strikes from Jack Leitch and Flynn Duffy.
They will finally get their hands on the trophy when they host Forfar Athletic at Forthbank tomorrow.
Speaking ahead of another anticipated title party, a delighted Young beamed: “It was a brilliant weekend last week. We got the win to seal the title and we ended up having a bit of a celebration.
“We get the trophy this weekend and it should hopefully be another great celebration.”

Young hailed the togetherness surrounding the club at the moment, with the team on the park and Binos faithful in the stands combining so effectively.
On Saturday, 1,432 Binos diehards turned out to see the team. The gaffer added: “Everyone has really played their part. We had about 1500 at Dumbarton last week and we had a similar crowd on Saturday so it was a brilliant occasion. It was great to give something back to the fans for all their support this season.”
On last weekend’s game, he said: “It was frustrating to go a goal down, but like we’ve done so many times this season, the boys kept battling and to come back and win it was pleasing.”
Looking ahead to tomorrow’s encounter with Forfar, and the subsequent trophy presentation, Young has called for his squad to soak in the moment and enjoy it.
“Football can be a funny game. Some of the guys have never won a title before and some might not win one again, so my advice to them is to just go and enjoy the occasion and make the most of it, because days like this don’t come around very often.”
Turning his attention to the Forfar game, Young says he may be tempted to freshen up his starting 11 to give some members of the squad who have been carrying niggles time to recover.
The play-off chasing Loons will be hoping to upset the trophy party.
“They’ve got everything still to play for, but we may make a few changes for it to give boys who haven’t had as much game time as they’d have liked a run out”, Young added
The Binos boss has already been hard at work trying to shape his squad ahead of next term’s assault on League One, with a number of key players putting pen to paper on a new deal.
Young is hopeful that a handful of players still to sign on the dotted line will do so as he gets set for contract talks with them.
Ray McKinnon’s Forfar side put together a strong run of results to propel themselves into the play-off mix, but have taken just a single point from their last three games. Most recently they slid to a 1-0 defeat at home to Bonnyrigg Rose last Saturday.
In three encounters this season, Albion have beaten Forfar twice – a 4-1 drubbing back in September and a 2-0 win in March. The other fixture finished goalless in February. Kick off is 3pm.
