Still Game actors tell Pride of Scotland winner they will 'recreate moment she tackled robber'

As they presented an award at the Daily Record's Pride of Scotland event, Still Game stars Greg Hemphill and Gavin Mitchell wanted to recreate the moment brave shop worker and grandmother Roseann Gibson tackled a robber with a claw hammer to the ground.

Roseann, 64, won the Outstanding Bravery award on Thursday evening for her heroic actions at Browns newsagents in Glasgow on December 27, 2021.

The 4ft11in hero grandmother wrestled a robber armed with a claw hammer to the ground and CCTV footage captured the impressive moment Roseann helped her nephew pin the bungling raider.

Officers later discovered the attacker was also carrying a knife. He admitted attempted robbery and threatening violence at Glasgow Crown Court.

As they arrived on stage, Greg said: “We’d now like to recreate Rosanne’s time of bravery with Gav playing the robber. Honestly if we’d have gone to the BBC with your story they would have said it was too far fetched.

"It’s an absolute honour to meet you. You are a brave brave woman. Congratulations.”

Gavin added: “We could have done with you in the Clansman to be honest to get rid of some people.

"The way things are going tonight towards the end you know we’ve got Irvine Welsh, Logan (Roy), we’ve got Ray from Crime so if there is someone needing a doing."

Both actors pretended they were scared to go near her in case they were assaulted, with each one telling the other, “You give her the award.”
