Stewart's Recalls Two Half-Gallon Ice Cream Flavors in New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire After Customer Finds Metal

Stewart's Shop Corp. is recalling two flavors of its half-gallon ice cream after a customer found a metal object inside a carton, according to a company notice posted by the FDA on Oct. 2. The recalled Heavenly Medley and Vanilla-Chocolate-Strawberry cartons were sold at all Stewart's Shops locations in New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire between July 17 and Oct. 2.

No injuries or illnesses have been reported, the company said. Still, ice cream can sit in the freezer for months, and both recalled products carry best-by dates in February 2027, so cartons bought this summer may still be in home freezers.
