It’s been a busy couple of weekends for Stewartry Sharks.
With the P6/7s were playing in a pre-match tournament at Scotstoun, the P1-5s headed to Dumfries the following day to face Dumfries Saints and Annan Tigers.
And last weekend they hosted Moffat at Greenlaw.
The P1-5 trip to Park Farm took place on a freezing morning. There was fantastic rugby on display in all of the age groups, which soon made everyone forget about the cold with great ball handling, impressive runs, lots of tries and strong defensive tackling.
The P1-3 teams were divided by their respective year groups and it was great seeing the progression through the different games. The Stewartry Sharks P4/5s’ games were very physical and the tackling was intense.
On Sunday at Greenlaw, both Stewartry Sharks and Moffat were down a few players and coaches due to illness and coronavirus self isolation. Some members of the senior team, who would have been very tired after their fantastic win against Carrick the day before, kindly stepped in to coach the P6/7s. They played some great rugby against a strong Moffat team.
The P1 and P2 teams from Moffat were so badly hit with illness that none could travel so the Stewartry Sharks mixed P1-3 team played against the Moffat P3 team on a much bigger pitch than they were used to and did really well.
