All roads lead to Edinburgh this weekend for Stewartry Rugby Club.
The Greenlaw side travel to play at Murrayfield for just the second time in one of their biggest games in the club’s 52-year history.
The Castle Douglas team will take on fellow West Regional League Division One opponents East Kilbride in the National Shield final on Saturday morning.
And they will be backed in large numbers by a travelling support from the Stewartry with more than half a dozen buses making the trip to the capital in the early hours.
Club president Jim Picken said: “It’s a massive weekend, the whole local rugby community is buzzing about it.”
Captain John said: “All of the boys are absolutely buzzing for it. It’s such a cool occasion to play on the big pitch at Murrayfield so we’re all excited.”
Coach Sandy Currie called the final a “massive opportunity” for his squad.
