An artist from the Stewartry will be appearing on the main stage at Youth Beatz this weekend.
Alexander Romance only released his first song this year but on Saturday he’ll be performing at the Dumfries festival, with his name on the poster alongside artists such as Pixie Lott and Ella Eyre.
Alexander, who is from the Dalry area, said: “I dropped out of university to make music and released my first song in January.
“Hagen Patterson from Dumfries Music Conference asked me to be the showcase artist there and that led to him recommending me to perform on the main stage at Youth Beatz.
“It’s been a bit of a whirlwind, things are just moving really fast. I’d like to think it’s testament to the work I’ve done so far that it portrays a high enough standard that they would consider me.”
Alexander’s first song, Lovesick Romance, has proven popular and has clocked up thousands of views on YouTube.
He added: “I would describe my style as a blend of hip hop, rock, pop, alternative – loads of different things. I’m trying to take my influences and all these different genres and pull them together in a way that is unique for me.
