Stevie Nicks has paid an emotional tribute to Fleetwood Mac bandmate Christine McVie with an emotional handwritten note and song.
The singer-songwriter, 74, was left devastated after discovering just hours ago that Christine had died aged 79.
She revealed that she hadn't known that her "best friend" had been ill until late Saturday night and had wanted to travel down, however had been told to wait.
During that time, she had a song in her head and had hoped to sing it to her one day.
Paying tribute on Instagram, she shared a photo of a handwritten note which read: "A few hours ago I was told that my best friend in the whole world since the first day of 1975 had passed away.
"I didn't even know she was ill... until late Saturday night. I wanted to be in London; I wanted to get to London - but we were told to wait. So, since Saturday, one song has been swirling around in my head, over and over and over. I thought I might possibly get to sing it to her, and so, I'm singing it to her now.
