Schindler’s List is a film that holds a special place in the heart of acclaimed director Steven Spielberg. With a career spanning over five decades, Spielberg has delivered some of the most iconic movies in cinematic history. From the groundbreaking Jaws in 1975 to the beloved E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial and the adventurous Indiana Jones franchise, Spielberg has left an indelible mark on the film industry.
One of Spielberg's most cherished works, Schindler’s List, is based on the 1982 book Schindler’s Ark by Thomas Keneally. When Spielberg first encountered the book, he was captivated by the story of Oskar Schindler and his heroic efforts to save Jewish lives during the Holocaust. Despite initial doubts about adapting the complex narrative for the screen, Spielberg's passion for the project drove him to create a powerful and moving film.
