Steven Gerrard thrills fans as he drinks with Hollywood star in LA

Steven Gerrard is currently enjoying some time in Los Angeles with his family as they have returned to the Golden State.

The former Liverpool FC captain spent two seasons playing for LA Galaxy in 2015 and 2016. At the time Steven, originally from Huyton, moved into a Beverley Hills pad with wife Alex and their three daughters.

When the 42-year-old announced his decision to leave LA, he posted on Instagram that it was a "special place" and that he would miss it. So it's no surprise he and his family have headed back there for a holiday.

On Tuesday, the Liverpool legend shared a snap of himself, Alex and their daughter Lourdes with some friends at Javier's Cantina in Los Angeles. And his latest Instagram post shows the Aston Villa manager enjoying drinks with none other than Hollywood star Will Ferrell.

The two can be seen drinking wine with a third man in the snap. Captioning the post, Steven simply said: "As ye do" [sic].

Fans were quick to comment, with many making jokes relating to Ferrell's iconic film, Anchorman. Jon Cockroft said: "Well that escalated quickly".

Schoey said: "Kind of a big deal", while Ben Fearhead said: "Nice drop of Burgundy". Others referred to other films, with Stuart Douch saying: "When Stevie meets elf". Robert Skeemer said: "Did you two just become best friends?"

Will Ferrell is also a huge football fan. In fact, the comedian and actor invested in his home ground team Los Angeles FC, better known as LAFC, and became a co-owner of the MLS franchise in 2016.
