Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has given two reasons why Luis Suarez was better than Fernando Torress.
Gerrard played alongside both players as Torres spent over three years with Liverpool between 2007 and 2011, while Suarez joined in January 2011 and spent roughly the same amount of time with the club.
The pair are regarded as two of the best attacking talents of Liverpool's modern era, but for Gerrard, Suarez just about edges it.
In an interview with Sky Sports, the Aston Villa boss explained why he'd choose Suarez over the Spain international.

“I get asked this question a lot, it’s very difficult. I always split it into two," Gerrard said.
“From an England point of view Wayne Rooney, from a Liverpool point of view it would probably be between Fernando Torres and Luis Suarez.
“But if I was forced [to give one], because Luis did it over a longer period of time.
He then joked: “And because Luis left for a foreign club rather than Chelsea, I’d go with Suarez.”
The pair scored over 160 goals for the club combined, but Torres swapped Anfield for Stamford Bridge when he left in 2011.
Suarez was targeted by Spanish giants Barcelona and he departed after the 2013/14 season, he went on to score 195 goals for the Catalan club.
Both players are now on Atletico Madrid's books as Suarez joined in September 2020.
Torres, a product of Atletico's academy, returned to spend some of the latter days of his playing career with the club and now coaches their U19s.
