Celtic favourite Moussa Dembele is a reported January transfer target for Aston Villa - which could lead to a cash boost for the Hoops.
The French striker returned to his homeland in 2018 after an impressive stint in Glasgow and outside of a brief loan to Atletico Madrid, has remained there since. Links about moves back to the UK where he has represented Celtic and Fulham have never been far away though and another has emerged, with Aston Villa and former Rangers manager Steven Gerrard reportedly a fan.
He is in the final year of his deal at the Ligue 1 side and despite links with an exit, Dembele was keen to fight for his starting XI place alongside Alexandre Lacazette. Celtic may have been hoping for a sale as they hold a big 15% sell-on clause in Dembele's deal and would be rewarded for negotiations four years ago if he did leave.

Gerrard could be the man to put those wheels into motion as JeunesFooteux report that the Villans are weighing up a January offer.
They believe they can get him at a cut-price fee given his contract status while experience in UK football is seen as a plus.
Dembele's determination to stay could prove a challenge to overcome but it's claimed Lyon 'would not be against recovering a few million euros during the next transfer window, rather than letting him go for nothing in July.'
