Steven Davis Rangers stay forgotten in scathing Northern Ireland verdict as he is told 'old father time catches up'

Fuming Iain Dowie has slammed Steven Davis for a costly mistake during Northern Ireland's clash with Kosovo.

The 37-year-old looked to be back to his best towards the end of the season for Rangers and was rewarded with a new one-year-deal.

However, the Nations League games have been tough for Davis and his international teammates so far.

They have collected just one point from their opening two group stage games, and got off the the worst possible start against Kosovo.

It was Rangers legend Davis who was at fault as he chopped down Milot Rasshica in the box to give away a penalty.

That allowed Muriqi to step up and give the home side the lead, and former Crystal Palace boss Dowie wouldn't let Davis off the hook.

The raging commentator said: “I don’t know what Steven Davis is doing.

“You can tell now, he thinks he can get there. I’m not being funny, he’s been immense for Northern Ireland but time catches up and you look at Rashica, very sharp, he buys the penalty.

“The worst possible start for Northern Ireland.”
