Former Premier League midfielder and pundit Steve McManaman believes that rumours claiming Wilfried Gnonto leaving Leeds United for Manchester City 'make no sense' as he'd never join the Citizens.
Recent rumours have linked the Italian with a move to play under Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium after his impressive debut season in the Premier League.
However, McManaman can't ever see a move like that happening in the near future, highlighting the abundance of wingers City already have as a key factor.

"He is a very tricky winger but unless Manchester City get rid of a couple of wingers, then I don’t see why they’d go for him," McManaman explained to Betfred.
"In Gnonto’s case, why would he go there if he has competition from Riyad Mahrez, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish and Bernardo Silva?"
At only 19 years old, Gnonto has netted four times and found three assists in the 20 appearances he's made in all competitions so far this season at Leeds.
But the youngster, who has started 17 of those 20 matches, would see a dramatic drop in game time if he made the switch from Elland Road to the Etihad, something that McManaman points out would be devastating to his growth as a player.
"He would know that he’s not going to play every single game and his game time should be at the front of his mind if he’s receiving interest from a prospective buyer. I’d be really surprised if this transfer was to happen this summer.
"You can’t play well for 11 or 12 games and then be suddenly linked with the best teams in the league. That doesn’t make sense at all."
