Nottingham Forest fixture changes revealed for Man United, Chelsea and Southampton games

The Premier League schedule for the Christmas period has been confirmed - with new dates for three Nottingham Forest fixtures.

Forest 's showdown with Manchester United at Old Trafford - originally set for Boxing Day - will now be played on Tuesday, December 27, kicking off at 8pm. The match is being shown live by Amazon.

The Reds' next game, against Chelsea at the City Ground - initially set for December 31 - will now take place on New Year's Day - Sunday, January 1. Kick off will be 4.30pm, with Sky Sports broadcasting the action live.

Nottingham Forest legend tells Steve Cooper who must be the 'first name' on his team sheet

Nottingham Forest legend Garry Birtles says Taiwo Awoniyi should be the first name on Steve Cooper's teamsheet until the World Cup.

Awoniyi got the only goal in Saturday's surprise win against Liverpool, his third of the season since a then-club record summer move from Union Berlin.

The former Liverpool striker has struggled to cement a regular starting place at Forest with Cooper trying to prove a front three without a focal point can work. European Cup winner Birtles says Awoniyi needs to start all three games before the break for the World Cup though after scoring on the rebound when his initial effort from Steve Cook's cross came back off the post.

Harry Redknapp raves about two Nottingham Forest players after Liverpool win

Harry Redknapp has named Nottingham Forest duo Dean Henderson and Ryan Yates in his team of the week after victory over Liverpool.

The former Tottenham and Portsmouth boss picked Henderson out as his star man for his performance, hinting at a possible World Cup call being on the horizon. He pointed to Henderson's saves being vital as Forest kept a clean sheet at the City Ground.

“To keep a clean sheet is one thing, but to do and get the three points against Liverpool is some achievement," Redknapp told BetVictor. "Forest had luck on their side, but this man made some crucial stops, including one world-class save at the end to deny the Reds. He’s in excellent form ahead of the World Cup and his display on Saturday makes him this week’s star man.”
