Steve Cooper makes 'very honest' admission as Nottingham Forest receive double transfer plea

Good morning, Forest fans! Here are the latest headlines from the Reds on Monday, October 17.

Steve Cooper makes 'very honest' Forest admission amid dismal run

Head coach Steve Cooper insists morale isn't an issue, despite Nottingham Forest sitting bottom of the Premier League table.

After a positive display in Monday night's draw with Aston Villa, the Reds struggled to keep that going against Wolverhampton Wanderers. They put in a largely lacklustre performance as a Ruben Neves penalty proved enough to clinch all three points for the hosts.

Defeat in the West Midlands means Forest are without a win in eight league games. They are propping up the division with five points from 10 matches.

Jermaine Jenas highlights crucial missing link for Forest in Wolves defeat

City Ground old boy Jermaine Jenas highlighted the "quite simple fixes" Nottingham Forest have to make after they lost 1-0 at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Forest stumbled to their seventh defeat in 10 Premier League games after Wolves captain Ruben Neves tucked away his penalty while Brennan Johnson missed his for the Reds after being denied from the spot by home keeper Jose Sa.

Not much had separated the teams heading into the game with both looking for a positive result to lift them away from the relegation zone, but Jenas claimed "a bit more composure" from Steve Cooper's men could have seen a different outcome at Molineux.

It was a sight that broke Forest hearts all over again, with supporters desperate to see the two men back in Garibaldi red. Some have been talking about how different things would be with Spence and Garner in the Forest squad this season, while those of a more optimistic persuasion want the pair to return in January. Below is a look at what supporters have been saying.

Defender 'fighting' for recall amid Cooper demand

Nottingham Forest defender Giulian Biancone is 'fighting every day' to give 100 per cent for the Reds, according to a social media account that appears to be run by the player's brother.

Since signing this summer, the 22-year-old has made just a single Premier League appearance for Forest. Biancone replaced Cheikhou Kouyate at centre-back for the final 12 minutes against Manchester City before Julian Alvarez scored the sixth and final goal of the game.

After being left out of the matchday squad against Leicester City and Aston Villa after the international break, the Frenchman returned to the bench but was again unused against Wolverhampton Wanderers. That made it the seventh occasion he hasn't featured after being named as a substitute.
