Yates praise
Boss Steve Cooper was full of praise for “diamond” Ryan Yates as the midfielder rescued a 1-1 draw for Nottingham Forest with a dramatic late equaliser.
The Reds deserved more than the point against Sheffield United, having dominated for much of the evening at Bramall Lane.
It had looked as though they would be left to rue a string of missed chances after Billy Sharp had netted against the run of play with 20 minutes to go.
But Forest once again showed their fighting spirit and Yates headed in right at the death to ensure the visitors claimed a share of the spoils.
“I can’t speak highly enough of him. He’s just an absolute diamond of a lad. He’ll do anything for the football club and anything for the team,” Cooper said of the midfielder.
A lifetime contract
Ryan Yates headed in a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser as Nottingham Forest rescued a point at Sheffield United.
Brennan Johnson had missed a glorious chance to put the Reds ahead from the penalty spot in the first half but saw Wes Foderingham save his spot-kick awarded for a foul on Djed Spence.
Forest created plenty of chances to take the lead but were made to pay for their profligacy when ex-Reds striker Billy Sharp nodded in at the far post after the break.
But just as Forest looked on course for defeat, Yates popped up at the back post to meet James Garner's corner to give them a deserved point.

Penalty fury
Nottingham Forest fans have blasted the decision not to award the Reds a penalty during the first half of their Championship clash at Sheffield United.
TV footage showed Blades defender Femi Seriki pulling the shirt of Keinan Davis in the area, but a spot-kick was not given.
But Forest were eventually awarded a penalty when Djed Spence was fouled in the area only for Brennan Johnson to miss from 12 yards.
The decision not to give Davis a penalty, however, angered Reds fans and here's what they had to say on Twitter.
Bowyer talks Taylor transfer
Birmingham City boss Lee Bowyer says his relationship with Lyle Taylor could give him the advantage in a bid to sign the striker from Nottingham Forest this summer.
Taylor is currently thriving on loan at Blues having been reunited with Bowyer who was his manager during his spell at Charlton Athletic.
Forest granted Taylor an exit in the January window sparking speculation over his long-term future at the club especially after the Reds signed Sam Surridge in a £2m deal from Stoke City.
But Bowyer feels Taylor's form at Birmingham could force the Reds into a rethink if he continues to produce the goods at St Andrew's
