Steve Cooper believes Nottingham Forest’s win over Liverpool back in October is proof that they can pick up all three points at Anfield tomorrow.
Taiwo Awoniyi, who left Liverpool in 2021 without making a competitive appearance, hit the winner from close range after his initial attempt came back off a post. The Reds were a long way from their best at the City Ground.
However, Jurgen Klopp’s side come into tomorrow’s game on the back of a 6-1 win over Leeds United at Elland Road, while Forest currently find themselves in the bottom three and are without a win in their last 10 games.

But Cooper believes his side showed back in October that they already have the template they need to follow to pick up all three points at Anfield.
He said: "The win earlier this season was a really good example of giving everything on the pitch. Liverpool are a brilliant team, they showed it at Leeds and have done on many occasions this year.
“They have brilliant players and a brilliant manager and it’s going to take everything to get a positive result, but we've got to believe.
"We don’t compare the two games as it's two different teams at different stages of the season, but we know if we get it right we can have good days.
"We’re in control of that and we’re always in control of our performances. That’s where we’ve got to stay focused and do our very best to turn things around.
"We’re on a poor run and could have done certain things better but we’ve got to look forward and look to improve."
Before he added: "We know all about the stats and know our away form has been nowhere near good enough, but as each game comes I ask myself and staff and the players to give their best and really believe in the plan and believe we can achieve to get a positive result.
"If we go into the game with those things in our mind, we’ve got zero chance. If we go in thinking about doing things right, then we give ourselves a chance of winning any game.
"We’ve got to try and create an opportunity to do that. It's painful when we don’t get the results we want, but it turns into motivation to do well."
