Nottingham Forest’s summer transfer window has been as much about looking to the long-term as putting together a squad for the Premier League.
An overhaul of the dressing room was always going to be necessary, whichever division the Reds found themselves in this season. The departure of key players left significant holes to be filled.
Loanees Djed Spence, James Garner, Max Lowe, Philip Zinckernagel and Keinan Davis were integral to Forest’s promotion success and then returned to their parent clubs. The likes of Lewis Grabban, Brice Samba and Tobias Figueiredo have also departed since the end of last term.
