Steve Clarke insists he has never gone in to a game thinking his side won't win and Scotland vs Spain is no different.
The national side boss, who committed long term to the job at Hampden Park until 2026 this week with a new deal, believes the Scots have more to show after Saturday's 3-0 win over Cyprus. It was goals from John McGinn and a quick-fire brace from Manchester United star Scott McTominay that sealed the first win of the EURO 2024 qualifying campaign.
Yet the challenge of Luis de la Fuente's Spanish side is looming on Tuesday, with a 3-0 win matched by the Spaniards against Norway on Saturday evening. Yet Clarke has put them squarely in Scotland's sights and pointed to previous historic giant killings in Mount Florida as motivation for the big game.

He said: "We want to be competitive against the top teams. We're trying to push the players to get better. The more you play against top opposition, the better you should get.
"We've shown in the past that we're capable of getting results against good teams. That's what we have to do again tomorrow night. I go into every game thinking I'm going to win, I've done that since I was 17. Every single game.
"We know we have to be disciplined, we know we have to be organised, we know we have to play very very well, and Spain have to slightly underperform a little bit, but if that happens we know we can get a positive result."
