Steve Borthwick was defiant after England’s worst-ever Six Nations campaign ended with their best performance.

England were condemned to a fifth-place finish after losing four games in a single championship for the first time, yet delivered a vastly improved attacking display in a 13-try, 94-point thriller against much-fancied France to conclude Super Saturday.
