The Rams didn’t need a top-five pick in order to land Les Snead’s favorite quarterback in the class. They got him in the fourth round.
At No. 128 overall, the Rams selected former Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett, a two-time national champion with the Bulldogs – and apparently Snead’s favorite quarterback in the 2023 draft.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network shared that tidbit in his tweet announcing the Rams’ selection of Bennett. Given all the talent in this class, from Bryce Young to Will Levis, it’s surprising to learn Bennett was Snead’s favorite.
Oh wow. The #Rams take #Georgia QB Stetson Bennett at No. 128. GM Les Snead's favorite QB of this draft.

The Rams had a shot to draft Levis if they really wanted him, though they would have needed to trade up in the second round to get it done. They chose not to, staying put at No. 36 and taking Steve Avila instead.
There are certainly traits to like about Bennett, like his athleticism and clutch play in big games. But on the flip side, he’s 25 years old, was arrested in January and is severely undersized at only 5-foot-11.
