Steppingstones Youth Cycling Club wins club relay mountain biking championships

Steppingstones Youth Cycling Club defeated rivals from all over Scotland to win the club relay mountain biking championships at Falkirk at the weekend.

The teams had to consist of one rider from each age group, two males and two females who had to ride a lap each.

Cobey Stewart took an early lead for the team then handed over to Izzy Barbour. Both Izzy and Katy Kaos McGowan had super strong laps before Sam Barbour sprinted the team to victory by a considerable margin, bringing home the club championship trophy.

Success was also achieved in the pairs event when Sam Barbour won the U16 male category with his team-mate Oliver Blyth.

Zach and Katy were second in the U14 mixed and Izzy and Josh Stewart were also second in the U12 mixed.

Cobey Stewart and team-mate Sam Kingan won the U10s male race and Mitch Stewart and Emma Kingan were first in the mixed pairs U8 event.
