Stephen McManus says he is "bitterly disappointed" after Celtic's UEFA Youth League defeat to Feyenoord.
The young Hoops went down 3-0 in Rotterdam after goals from starlets Givairo Read, Jaden Slory and Antoni Milambo.
However, the B team coach feels there is plenty his side will be able to take away from the fixture.
He told Celtic TV: "We are bitterly disappointed with the result. The first thing for us is the performance. We just lacked a little bit of belief at this level.
"It is the first game in the competition, the last two matches have been a brilliant learning curve for the boys because they have never experienced that feeling before.
"We have played West Ham and Feyenoord and the boys will be better for it. We will be better prepared for it as a group and as individuals and we will do what we can to help the players.
"Our job is trying to produce players who can perform in our first team or have a career elsewhere.
"These games give the boys invaluable experience."
Meanwhile, Celtic have announced tickets have sold out for the first home match in the Champions League group stage.
Brendan Rodgers' side host Lazio in Glasgow next month on matchday two of the competition.
Celtic kick-off their campaign against Feyenoord in the Netherlands this evening.
The club have now released a statement thanking fans for their backing with no seats left for the match against Lazio next month.
A club statement confirmed: "A strong support awaits when Celtic face Lazio at Paradise on Wednesday, October 4, with tickets for Matchday 2 of the Bhoys’ UEFA Champions League group stage campaign now sold-out.
"The Celts get their UCL adventure underway tonight having travelled to face Feyenoord in their opening game of the competition, and will be looking to kick-on when they return home to a packed Paradise to continue their Champions League campaign next month.
"The world famous atmosphere at Celtic Park on European nights is unrivalled, and a packed Paradise in full voice getting behind Glasgow’s green and white is vital.
