Stephen King hints 'new book' after scaring fans with 'creepy' poster

Stephen King fans are convinced the award-winning horror author is writing a new book after he left many 'terrified' by a 'creepy' social media post. Taking to Twitter, the 75-year-old shared a image of a 'wanted' poster that featured the face of a rather 'nightmarish' looking man - or creature.

Above the man's face, text reads: "Have you seen this man?", followed by: "Beware. The subject is very hostile, if seen immediately contact us." It then lists a phone number, which doesn't look particularly real.

The writer did not include a caption to the image, so many fans rushed to comment their theories on what the poster could mean. Some said it could all be related to a new book he might be working on, giving fans an early glimpse at what sort of content they can expect from him next.

While others theorised the image was related to the new and upcoming TV series 'Welcome to Derry'. The show is set to be released next year and will serve as a prequel to the movies It and It Chapter Two, which are based on Stephen King's novel It.

Yazzy1967 tweeted: "New book?", which another fan, Ela2162, replied back to saying: "Hope so." MetaZooGames asked: "Mr. King, is there something you need to tell us?" Silke_bhatia wrote: "New novel coming." WRMitchelson also typed: "New book?"

Visionarydrew replied: "Is this from “Welcome to Derry” ??" Kaitopshotta confessed: "I need this movie to come out now I’m already hooked just by this photo." Spillways quizzed: "What are you planning oh god."

Some fans couldn't help but comment on the "terrifying" poster. PatriotRadio12 put: "Omg scary." PhDee added: "Nightmarish." Laurellsteven admitted: "I most sincerely hope to never see that man." Ernestsewell added: "Well... that's terrifying."

Dixie2233 stated: "Sure would not want to meet him in a dark or for that matter a daylight alley, street or anywhere else." PandaPPanda4 said: "Oooooooo scary." MinkMark007 said: "That is definitely creepy."

Meanwhile, others saw the post as an opportunity to crack some jokes. JetlinHodgdon laughed: "He is very attractive! Does he bite?" LOVEWARRI0R quipped: "Nah bruh that's just my morning face when I wake up." TomWelja echoed: "How did they get a picture of me waking up?"
