Stephen Kenny names his Ireland team ahead of crunch Greece Euro 2024 qualifier

Stephen Kenny has named his side for tonight's crunch Euro 2024 qualifier with Greece.

The Boys in Green head to Athens in need of a positive result after they opened their campaign with a 1-0 home defeat to France in March.

Kenny has shown faith in under-fire Gavin Bazunu and the recently dropped Southampton keeper starts between the sticks.

John Egan starts and is named as captain in the absence of Seamus Coleman with Matt Doherty lining out on the right of a back five.

Callum O'Dowda takes up the left wing back berth, while Nathan Collins and Darragh Lenihan line-out in central defence.

Josh Cullen keeps his place as the anchor in midfield alongside Josh Molumby, while Will Smallbone's involvement is a surprise.

All eyes will be on Evan Ferguson as he makes just his second senior competitive start for Ireland, with Adam Idah leading the line alongside the Brighton youngster.

Ireland team to play Greece:

Bazunu

Doherty, Collins, Egan, Lenihan, O'Dowda

Molumby, Cullen, Smallbone,

Ferguson, Idah.
