Stephen A. Smith got his wish: Shannon Sharpe will be joining him on ESPN's “First Take.” But Smith seems to have another announcement up his sleeve.
During an episode of “The Stephen A. Smith Show” on Aug. 23, Smith expressed his displeasure that two of his closest friends -- Michael Irvin and Keyshawn Johnson -- are expected to join Smith’s former debate partner Skip Bayless on FS1’s “Undisputed.”
Bayless announced on Twitter on Aug. 21 that the two former ESPN analysts are going to be joining his new “dream team” on FS1. While it is reportedly not yet official because of complications between The Walt Disney Co. (DIS) -) sports network and its former employees, Smith said he expects it to happen anyway.

But Smith said his displeasure wasn’t because of the competition at Fox (FOX) -), but because he was going to “miss” the two people he considers “brothers.” And when it came to the competition between "Undisputed" and “First Take,” Smith teased that something is also coming on his end.
“As far as I’m concerned, let’s get it on,” Smith said. “I expect to have my own announcement sooner than later.”

Smith confirmed on the podcast that it was separate from Sharpe joining him on “First Take.” And when Smith officially confirmed the former “Undisputed” debater’s move to ESPN on Aug. 24, he once again teased his coming announcement.
“I’ve got another announcement coming in about a week or so as well,” Smith said.
It’s still unclear what Smith is referring to, but it's intriguing that one of ESPN's faces would repeatedly tease it unless it were something big especially because he tried to downplay the original report about Sharpe joining ESPN.
