Stephan Van Der Heyden left shocked by Rangers vs Ross County postponement

Rangers assistant Stephan Van Der Heyden has expressed his shock at the Ibrox side's clash against Ross County being postponed.

Club chiefs announced the match had been called off after Ross County players and staff were unable to reach Glasgow due to adverse weather.

The match had been due to kick-off at 7.45pm on Wednesday, December 27 but will now be rescheduled.

A Rangers statement confirmed the Ibrox playing surface was in "good condition" but the match was called off due to the travel issues for the visiting team.

This led to the Van Der Heyden taking to social media to address the postponement.

Writing on X, he said: "Can not even remember when I had a game postponed..."

Meanwhile, Nick Walsh will be the man in the middle for the latest instalment of Celtic versus Rangers.

He has been named as the referee for the highly-anticipated derby clash on Saturday, December 30.

Celtic lead the way at the summit of the Premiership by five points after defeating Dundee 3-0 this afternoon.

Philippe Clement's side are in action tomorrow evening at home to Ross County, where they will look to reduce that gap back to two to then leapfrog the champions at the weekend.

Walsh has experience of officiating the fixture. The Scottish FA has entrusted him to handle the occasion.

He will be assisted by Graeme Stewart and Calum Spence.

Willie Collum will be on VAR and his assistant Daniel McFarlane. Kevin Clancy will be the fourth official.
