Steph's Packed Lunch off air for two weeks in Channel 4 schedule shake up

Steph's Packed Lunch has been taken off air for two weeks in a schedule shake up.

Steph McGovern usually hosts the popular Channel 4 show every lunchtime in the week, but at the end of Friday's instalment, which was an Easter special, she revealed her and the team would be off air for the next couple of weeks.

Fans of the show will be pleased to know it is only a brief break over the Easter holidays and that Steph and co would be back on Monday April 25 for another string of shows, as she confessed to her excitement about getting two weeks off.

Jumping for joy, Steph told viewers that she would be back on April 25 and was looking forward to having two weeks off work.

"We're off for Easter break for two weeks now, so we'll see you in a couple of weeks. We're going to be back on Monday 28th," she told viewers before she was quickly corrected and announced it was actually the 25th.

Apologising, she said she was "just too excited" that she was off for two weeks.

Steph's Packed Lunch was extended in November 2021 for another year, after originally being launched in lockdown from Steph's home. She is regularly joined, now in the studio, by guests including Strictly's John Whaite and Denise van Outen.

Speaking about the show being picked up again last year, she said: "I love making Steph’s Packed Lunch! It’s so nice to work alongside my fab onscreen family and the amazing team who graft so hard behind the scenes.

"Together we’ve done some great things I’m really proud of; from encouraging women to have a smear test – I even had mine live on TV! – to helping people get back into work through our Job Clinic. We’ve tackled so many real issues that affect all our lives, welcomed so many big celeb names to Leeds Dock and met shed loads of inspirational people."

She added: "I’m buzzing that we’re going to keep doing it next year!”

Jo Street, Head of Daytime and Features for Channel 4, commented at the time: "We are thrilled that Steph’s daily live show has doubled its audience share in the last year. The series has grown and developed so much and we can’t wait for viewers to see what’s next from the talented team at Leeds Dock."
