Steph Davis shares terrifying moment she first saw stalker outside her home

Stephanie Davis said she can "sleep properly for the first time" after her stalker was jailed.

The former Hollyoaks star, 28, told of the terrifying moment she first caught Alex Boston on CCTV hiding behind the bins outside her house.

Sharing the footage with her fans on Instagram, Stephanie spoke out about the "horrific" experience which left her so worried she moved into her mum's house.

Boston, of Lyons Road, Moreton, was jailed for 28 weeks after pleading guilty to stalking and harassment.

Liverpool Crown Court heard how Boston began messaging the star on Instagram during the first coronavirus lockdown but his behaviour soon escalated.

After claiming he was in a relationship with the actress, Boston began turning up at her home and leaving gifts and flowers at her door, often during the night or in the early hours of the morning.

One of several videos shared by the actress on Instagram on Friday showed some of the gifts left by Boston including a teddy bear, daffodils, deodorant and clothes.

In another video, Stephanie could be heard screaming as she watched the CCTV footage of a man walking towards the front of her house.

In a post with her 971,000 followers on Instagram, Stephanie said: "This was a video from my CCTV where I first saw him with a balaclava on hiding round the side of my house.

"I’ve cut the video short but at the end of the original video you see me come out the house whilst he’s hiding behind the bins.

"In the next video you see him then follow where I’ve walked past oblivious to him watching and following me.

"I do apologise for the screams, but as you can imagine I was in utter shock and very distressed and concerned for my safety.

"He was convinced we were in a relationship. He harassed and stalked me for a long period."

She continued: "He took away my peace of mind and the safety of my home where I lived as a single mum with my young child.

"It was horrific and the stress was overwhelming. I couldn’t sleep, any noise I was panicking and playing through my head what would happen, and what if anything happened to me and my son.

"I had to leave my home and go to my mums with our routine all messed up, sleeping arrangements constantly changed and riddled with anxiety."

Stephanie told fans she will "sleep properly for the first time in a long time" following the sentencing as she urged anyone who has been in a similar situation to reach out and seek help.
