South Carolina women’s basketball star MiLaysia Fulwiley has signed a multi-year NIL deal with the Curry Brand, Under Armour announced Friday.
Fulwiley becomes the first college athlete to partner directly with Steph Curry’s brand, and she’s a good choice. Fulwiley was the first freshman in school history to be named MVP of the SEC tournament after scoring a career-high 24 points in the 79–72 championship win over LSU.
The freshman guard played in 32 games on a loaded and undefeated No. 1 Gamecocks team, averaging 11.8 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists on 44.4% shooting from the floor in 18.3 minutes per game.
Fulwiley is going to be the next star for the Gamecocks, and will certainly be a future professional. Curry signing her to his brand early in her college career is certainly a move that will pay dividends both now and into the future.
With Fulwiley in tow, Curry now has the only brand with both college and professional players signed to endorsement deals. Earlier this season, the Curry Brand added Sacramento Kings star De’Aaron Fox to the team.
