Stepan's Return On Capital Employed Insights

According to Benzinga Pro data Stepan (NYSE:SCL) posted a 53.8% decrease in earnings from Q3. Sales, however, increased by 1.22% over the previous quarter to $610.03 million. Despite the increase in sales this quarter, the decrease in earnings may suggest Stepan is not utilizing their capital as effectively as possible. In Q3, Stepan earned $36.92 million and total sales reached $602.69 million.
