Aston Villa player Alisha Lehmann has received the perfect gift from Stefanos Tsitsipas after agreeing to play a mixed doubles match with his brother.
Last month Lehmann, who boasts an Instagram following of 12.1 million, had followers captivated when she swapped football kits for a revealing tennis outfit, clearly enjoying herself as she practiced some groundstrokes. Amid endless favourable comments, one of the most notable came from Petros, 22, who proposed: "Let’s play Mixed?" with eyes and racquet emojis.
The younger sibling of the world No 3 is no novice mind, and has his own ATP ranking of 1,404. After several days elapsed, Swiss international Lehmann responded by saying: "Let's go," with a laughing emoji.
And she'll certainly be adequately prepared in terms of equipment, after Tsitsipas Snr intervened, The 24-year-old greek star, beaten in the Australian Open final by Novak Djokovic in January, has kindly sent her a signed Wilson racquet in the post.
Lehmann, 24, took to social media to show her appreciation. She posted footage of herself thanking the two-time Slam runner-up while performing keep-ups in the Villa dressing rooms, writing: "I'm ready for the game. Thankyou @StefanoTsitsipas98."
Fans will now wait to see if Lehmann, whose won 36 caps for her country - and also enjoyed stints in England with West Ham and Everton - will follow through on the agreement. If so, then footage will inevitably be uploaded of her playing alongside Petros, who has appeared in three Slam events in doubles matches.
The elder Tsitsipas, considered one of the biggest current talents not to capture a Slam, is not stranger to making public offers or gestures to famous stars mind. After beating Jiri Lehecka in the quarter finals at Melbourne Park this year, he declared his admiration for "favourite actress" Margot Robbie.
The comment drew laughter from the Aussie crowd as interviewer Jim Courier jokingly asked: "Are you pitching right now? What's happening? Are you making an offer? What are we seeing here?"
Tsitsipas responded: "It would be nice to see her here one day." Unfortunately for him, the Hollywood star was a no-show has he won through to the final before being well beaten by Djokovic.
