According to the league report, the Pittsburgh Steelers had two punters and two kickers in for tryouts this week. The Steelers brought in kickers Gabe Brkic and Chris Naggar as well as punters Dom Maggio and Joseph Carlton.
Brkic was the starting kicker at Oklahoma from 2019 to 2022 where he hit 57 of 69 field goal tries. Brkic made five kicks of more than 50 yards in 2021. Naggar started his college career at the University of Texas before transferring to SMU. Naggar was on the Browns practice squad in 2022 but was active for one game going one for one on field goals and one for two on extra points.
Maggio played college ball at Wake Forest and developed a reputation as one of the best punters in college football but has yet to have an NFL put. Carlton is from South Carolina. He’s been in the league since 2020 and has 69 career punts. His career average is 45.4 yards per punt.
