It’s hard to believe that the Pittsburgh Steelers are currently 2-1 and on top of the AFC North after the way the team played in Week One. Fast forward to now and the Steelers are traveling to Houston to take on the Texans with a chance to re-establish themselves as one of the top teams in the AFC.
This team still has problems and there are still spots on the roster where things can be better. Here are four(ish) players we want to see more of against the Texns.
All 3 tight ends
The combination of Darnell Washington, Pat Freiermuth and Connor Heyward have combined for only 11 total targets in three games. This is unacceptable regardless of any other issues with the offense.
CB Joey Porter Jr.
With each passing week, rookie cornerback Joey Porter Jr. sees more snaps and we expect that to continue on Sunday.
DT Keeanu Benton
Another rookie who needs a larger role is defensive tackle Keeanu Benton. Benton got his first sack last week and has flashed his skills all season long in a very limited role.
RB Jaylen Warren
Last week it was nearly a 50/50 split between Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren in terms of snaps played. This week, depending on how the game plays out, we expect to see Warren take the lead in reps.
