The Pittsburgh Steelers got a double dose of good news on Wednesday when linebacker Elandon Roberts and safety Minkah Fitzpatrick returned to practice.
Pittsburgh has seriously missed these two defenders in the middle of the defense. Roberts has been out with a pectoral injury while Fitzpatrick has been dealing with a knee.
This week the Steelers face off against the Baltimore Ravens with a chance to secure a playoff spot with a win. So getting all hands on deck on defense, regardless of who is playing quarterback for the Ravens.

In Fitzpatrick’s absence, practice squad safety Eric Rowe has been in the starting lineup and played pretty well. The Steelers also moved cornerback Patrick Peterson to the other safety spot with Keanu Neal on IR.
Roberts was just the last of multiple injuries to starting inside linebackers. The Steelers brought back Myles Jack after he unretired and he’s been the team’s primary inside linebacker for the past two weeks.
