After the Pittsburgh Steelers got blown out by the Arizona Cardinals in Week 13, the hope was the team would bounce back against the New England Patriots. That didn’t happen as the Steelers were tripped up by the Patriots on Thursday night. Now the Steelers have to travel to Indianapolis to take on a Colts team in the thick of the playoff hunt. Here’s what we are concerned about this week.
This team has no identity
After the last two weeks, it is hard to get a read on what exactly this team can do well and what it cannot. Players aren’t playing hard and the coaches don’t seem concerned. They sleepwalked for two straight weeks and there’s no reason to believe they won’t do it again.
The Colts have everything to play for
Indianapolis is one of six teams in the AFC tied at 7-6. But unlike the Steelers, the Colts have rallied around losing their starting quarterback and have proven to be a tough out for any opponent.
Is winning better?
Have we reached a point where tanking is a better option for the Steelers? Winning this game would improve the team to 8-6 and keep them in the mix for the playoffs but realistically, if a playoff run isn’t an option, does this win help or hurt the team in the long run?
