It’s halftime and the Pittsburgh Steelers trail the Cleveland Browns 10-0. Ugly football is what the Steelers play and this half was no different. The offense has been non-existent and even the vaunted defense has struggled. Pittsburgh is going to need one of those late comebacks if they hope to pull off the upset win.
Kenny Pickett is the second-best QB in the game
Kenny Pickett looked lost in the first half. The only good plays he made were when he opted to tuck it and run. He and his offense are not on the same page as he finished the half with just 34 passing yards at halftime.
Thank God for the run defense
This game could be completely out of hand if not for the Steelers stepping up against the run. Cam Heyward and Keeanu Benton have been great and new starters Trenton Thompson and Mykal Walker are playing smart.
Communication issues everywhere
We expected there to be communication issues on defense with so many defensive leaders out but the same thing is happening on offense and it makes no sense.
Where is the pass rush?
The Browns have been harassing Kenny Pickett all game long while the Steelers seem incapable of getting to Thompson-Robinson. T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith haven’t seen a ton of double teams but have had no success in the first half.
