It’s Week 16 of the NFL regular season and somehow the Pittsburgh Steelers continue to limp along with the slightest level of playoff relevance. The last time the Steelers won a game it was against the Cincinnati Bengals but it was a month ago. Now Pittsburgh hopes to snap a three-game losing streak when the Bengals come to Acrisure Stadium on Saturday.
Unfortunately, since that game in November, these are two teams headed in different directions. Cincinnati has won its last three and the Steelers have lost their last three. The Bengals have moved ahead of the Steelers in the AFC North and despite having a backup quarterback have found a way to win game.
At this point, we see no reason to have any confidence in the Steelers to turn things around. Head coach Mike Tomlin looks like he lost his team and the whole situation is just compounded by a rash of injuries. Where will the points come from with Mason Rudolph at quarterback and how will a hobbled Steelers secondary slow down the Bengals?
