According to his agent David Canter, free-agent defensive tackle Armon Watt is signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Watts is heading into his fifth season in the NFL and is a former sixth-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings.
Watts was waived by the Vikings after having five sacks in 2021 For the Vikings. He played with the Chicago Bears in 2022 and started 12 games. For his career, he has 22 starts and 8.0 career sacks.
In Pittsburgh, Watts should provide some punch to a defense line in dire need of more beef. The Steelers also signed nose tackle Breiden Fehoko in free agency. This additional signing could have a huge impact on the Steelers draft plans.
