Steelers to sign CB Patrick Peterson to 2-year contract

According to ESPN NFL reporter the Pittsburgh Steelers are signing free-agent cornerback Patrick Peterson to a two-year contract.

The Steelers moved quickly to get Peterson after Cameron Sutton agreed to sign with the Detroit Lions.

Peterson will be 33 years old when the season starts. He was the No. 5 overall pick of the Arizona Cardinals in 2011 and spent most of his career there before heading to Minnesota in 2021. Peterson has 34 career interceptions.

Peterson should pair well with Levi Wallace and Arthur Maulet in the secondary and comes at what we assume will be a bargain. Last season Peterson had five interceptions and was graded out at an 80.7 by Pro Football Focus.

According to NFL reporter Tom Pelissero, the contract is two years and $14 million with $5.85 million guaranteed.
