This week has been a busy one for the Pittsburgh Steelers. A litany of injuries has forced the Steelers to make multiple roster adjustments on the fly as the team prepares to take on the Cleveland Browns. One addition the Steelers on Wednesday is to sign free-agent linebacker Tyler Murray to the practice squad.
Murray played his college football at Memphis and spent some time with the Cincinnati Bengals. When Murray got the call to join the Steelers he was working his shift at Amazon.
This move is in anticipation of the Steelers calling up at least one and maybe two inside linebackers to the active roster. Pittsburgh lost starting inside linebackers Cole Holcomb and Kwon Alexander in the back-to-back weeks. Look for Pittsburgh to call up Mykal Walker and possibly Tariq Carpenter from the practice squad this week to back up Elandon Roberts and Mark Robinson.
