Plenty of teams reached out to the Pittsburgh Steelers in an attempt to land that No. 32 overall pick. But when the dust settled the Steelers played it safe and went with the fan favorite, former Penn State cornerback Joey Porter Jr.
Porter’s dad is an absolute legend with the Steelers as a pass-rushing outside linebacker so it makes perfect sense with how the Steelers covet these sorts of family ties, Porter would be the pick.
For Porter, he looks to be a backup as a rookie while he learns behind Patrick Peterson and Levi Wallace. Many pundits expected the Steelers to take Porter Jr. in the first round but this spot makes much more sense and represents far more value.
